PRESENTS---

June 1, Westfield, MA--- It was another long night at Stafford, but every division was able to get their feature events into the books.  The big news of the evening was if TC, Ted Christopher, could take down his 100th career win at the famed half-mile.

In the 40-lap SK Modified it was the #2 of Rich Pallai Jr. taking the early lead as the   rest of the racy field ran side by side.  Pallai lost the lead on the second lap to the #54 of Eric Berndt. By lap six Todd Owen in the #90 became the third leader of the run.

Woody Pitkat briefly took the lead away from Owen on the lap 15 restart but Pitkat spun out and Owen regained the lead but he too spun out giving the lead to Bo Gunning.

As the laps ticked off, Gunning was faced with a hard charging Ted Christopher. The two drove each other hard and clean over the last five laps with Gunning crossing the line first and denying Christopher of his 100th win.

In the Late Model feature Patrick Townsend in the #00 taking the lead before Scott Foster, driving the #44 snatched the lead away from Townsend on lap two as the caution flag flew. Everything changed on the restart when Corey Hutchings, in his Lightening McQueen #95, took the lead. As was the case with the SK’s this field too was very racy.

Even though Hutching was able to hold off the hard charging Ryan Posocco until lap ten when Posocco was able to get by Hutchings for the lead. Once in the lead Posocco began drive away from the field and claim his first win of the year.

When the SK Lights came out, it was Heather DesRochers in the #10 took the early lead and was driving away from the field when a lap six caution flag bunched up the field.  Joe Allegro Jr. took the lead on the restart with Mark Bakaj hard after him. Bakaj took the lead away from Allegro Jr on a lap 15 restart and went on to post the victory.

Robert Dow won the Limited Late Model make-up race from last week and Andrew Durand won Friday’s regularly scheduled event.

Dan Flannery won the D.A.R.E event.

Next week will be a regular show at Stafford.
