May 12, Westfield, MA--- Well another rain out for Stafford Motor Speedway.  And all I can say is that the month of May is not starting off all that well. 

Even though I have been longing for Friday night races, it worked out for me.  With the rain out happening, it did give me an opportunity that I wouldn’t have had with a regular race night. 

What opportunity am I talking about?  That opportunity was to spend time with my mom because I wasn’t going to be able to on mother’s day.  Yes I had to celebrate mother’s day a few days early. 

Like I have mentioned before, I am a full time student so I have to work many different jobs to be able to put myself through school.  And with my three (yes three) jobs, I was away from her just about all weekend.   

That is also the reason why I didn’t get to sit down this weekend and write this column. 

With all the craziness just beginning (at least for me) hopefully this coming Friday will be the opening night.  Keep your fingers crossed third time is a charm.   

And as it stands now, it’s a tied score between Mother Nature and SMS.
