PRESENT---

May 4-Westfield, MA--- Stafford Motor Speedway-2, Mother Nature-1.  With one rain out so far this season, Mother Nature is trying to keep up with SMS.

This past Friday was supposed to be the first night race at the track.  And I’m sure I speak for many more people, I was looking forward opening Friday night.

The now opening Friday night will feature the Late Model 100.  Hopefully the weather will be a slightly better.  Last time I checked, a wet track isn’t that good for the cars.

Now, as I previously stated about the score between SMS and Mother Nature, hopefully we don’t have another wash out like we did about 2 years ago.  Now if you don’t remember the wash out, back in 2006 the whole month of May was rained out.

And this past week we turned the calendars to May.  Anyone want to take bets on what will happen this year?

With all that said, hopefully next week there will be news about racing on the half-mile and not mention the weather.  If I wanted to talk about the weather, I would have gone to school for meteorology.  But I am currently going to school for communications.  Just a little difference there, don’t you think?

And if you’re wondering how I came up with 2 for SMS, its one for the open practice and then the Sizzler weekend.
