Woody Pitkat, Scott Cook, Brit Anderson, Sean Foster and Carla Botticello take down feature wins.
June 4, Westfield, MA--- In the SK Modified forty lap feature event it was Zach Sylvester in his #51 machine taking the lead with Woody Pitkat in the #52 falling into second. While that was happening, the rest of the pack was trying to sort them out; they were able to do that by lap four. The next lap Pitkat started challenging for the lead. It took Pitkat to the restart of lap fourteen to get passed Sylvester. This restart also helped #13 of TC Ted Christopher make his way through the field. On lap 16 the next yellow flag came out and tightened up the field once again. When the field finally restarted on lap eighteen, Sylvester looked to take the lead back from Pitkat. Sylvester was able to take the lead on lap nineteen. Watching and taking advantage of this battle was Christopher. By lap twenty-two Christopher had worked his way up to the second position and had his sights set on Sylvester. Sylvester was able to hold off Christopher. Running in the third position and working his way passed Christopher was Pitkat. Pitkat was able to regain the lead by lap thirty. For the remaining ten laps Pitkat was able to hold off the rest of the pack to take down the win.
In a green to checkered feature event, the Late Models saw Ed Ricard in the #77 lead until the #99 of Scott Cook took it on the second half of the first lap. While that battle was settled quickly from mid pack on they were still trying to settle down. By lap four Cook and Ricard started to separate themselves from the rest of the pack. The biggest battle after the front two had pulled away for the third position. That battle was settled quickly, from the mid pack on they were still trying to settle down. By lap four Cook and Ricard started to separate themselves from the rest of the pack. The biggest battle after the front two had pulled away was for the third position. That battle was between Wayne Coury Jr. in the #10 and Corey Hutchings in the #90 machine. Winning that battle was Hutchings. By lap nine though, Cook started to put a huge lead over the field. On lap eighteen Cook came up on lap traffic and dealt with the traffic like it wasn’t even there. As the race went on, Cook was able to take down his first career win.
In the SK Lights, they wasted no time at bringing out the yellow flag. Once the green came back out, there was a battle for the lead. The battle was between Mark Bakaj in the #52 and the #20 of Mike Lane. Winning the battle in the backstretch was Bakaj. Once in the lead, Bakaj tried to pull away from the field, but was only able t pull away just a little bit. Making his presence known was Brit Anderson in the #70. Anderson was able to take the lead on lap four with Glenn Griswold in the #60 machine right on his tail. Anderson though was able to hold down the lead and take down the feature win.
In the D.A.R.E. Stocks it was Carla Botticello seeing checkers.
The Limited Late Models saw Sean Foster victorious.
