Keith Rocco, Tom Fearn, Chris Matthews, Andrew Durand and Bill Dunn take down wins at Stafford

May 13--Westfield, MA--- The SK Modified feature saw many battles within the forty laps. The #30 of John Cleary had pulled out to a quick and slim lead. But the #52 of Woody Pitkat came and took the lead. For two laps Pitkat was able to pull away from the field. On lap number three the #78 machine driven by Keith Rocco caught up to him and started challenging him for the lead. Rocco finally took the lead on lap five.

Five circuits later the first of five caution flags came out. Once the caution was done with, one of the biggest battles for the lead was happening. The battle was between Rocco, Pitkat, and Brad Hietala. Rocco though held onto the lead. Then on laps sixteen and seventeen the yellow flag flew, which put the rest of the pack back on Rocco’s tail.

This time it was Pitkat and TC. Ted Christopher wanted to try their luck with getting the lead. Rocco managed to out-muscle both former track champions. After that battle the battle was for second through fourth place. While that was happening, Rocco was able to pull away from the pack. After two more cautions and a hard charging Pitkat, Rocco was able to take down his first win of the young season.

In the Late Models, they had a hard time getting one lap onto the books. It took them five chances to get that first lap. Once the race got started, the cars were racing side by side for the top position. Battling for that position was the #92 of Tom Fearn and the #14 of Rick Charette. This went on until lap three when Charette took the lead and Fearn fell to fourth position.

Due to Fearn falling back, it put the #13 of Mike Quintiliano and the #17 of Jim Peterson on the tail of the leader. For two laps Quintiliano got to show the pack where to run. Then it was Peterson’s turn to show that pack what he has. Once Peterson had the lead he was able to hold it for a few flaps. But the car to watch was Fearn because he was making his way through the field and had his eyes set for the lead position. Once Fearn caught up to Peterson, he challenged him for the lead until he got it on lap 20. When the race was said and done with it was Longmeadow, Ma very own Tom Fearn visiting Victory Lane.

The SK Lights also put on a great show for the fans in attendance. After one false start, the 90 of Scott Nordman held down the lead with the 18 of Kyle Spencer in second place. On lap two, the only yellow flag flew. Nordman though was able to hold a slim lead over the rest of the pack. Making his way through the field was the 29 of Chris Matthews. Matthews ended up taking the lead on lap three. As the race went on, the field had started to spread out. The field became totally spread out by lap twelve. That was great news for Matthew, who ended up taking down the win.

In Limited Late Model action, it was Andrew Durand taking down a feature win. Durand was the only repeat winner of the evening. Then rounding out the action packed night it was Bill Dunn winning in the D.A.R.E Stock event.
